cooldude  One good thing about NOT doing trips every month is I really look forward to and appreciate the ones we have.  7 days and counting, and I can't believe I see 20 bikes and about 30 people signed up.  We're going to double the population of Baker.  I wish Lou was going though.

I don't usually do this, but on the way home from work last night I got a chance to "educate" a built-out Mustang.  We were sitting at a light and I had to listen to him revving his engine and his  (rap) music-- I think that's why I decided to go.  It was close for awhile then not so close.  The old girl has 106,000 and can still kick ass.  Always give's me a thrill to redline the Valkyrie.

20 bikes, just like the old days of the SoCal VRCC. Just a little heads up about the ride. We all meet in Baker for Breakfast or lunch or brunch. It will be the only meal stop until we reach Beatty. I would suggest you bring snacks and  some kind of drink with you if you want. Please fill you tank in Baker. From Baker the ride will be 224 miles with a gas stop in Shoshone so the smaller tanks can top off. I'm planning on stopping at Badwater, drive thru Artists Pallet and Dante View. We should be getting good gas mileage but if  necessary we can stop at Furnace Creek for another splash of gas. Looking forward to riding with all my old friends and new.

Thanks for the heads up about fuel Dave. I will be riding the tanker bike if someone has a fuel problem. Looking forward to a great ride!

I've been to the valley many times, but never on a bike.  Have you ever done the ride stovepipe past Panamint Springs and into Lone Pine and up Mt. Whitney Portal?  I know that is too long a day if your starting in Baker, but I'd love to do it some time.

I'd be interested in the price of gas in the valley when you pass thru, if you remember, please post it.

Don't know if this is high or low for the area in Feb, but here's pics of the prices at Shoshone and Furnace creek on Feb. 22, 2014.
