I'm sure he won't mind me sharing with you folk. I had sent him an email a few days ago and hadn't heard back....a bit unusual. Then in an email I got from him today he told me about it. Here's a copy/paste of most of his email to me today:
"I had an emergency appendectomy on Tuesday night. I was having some pretty bad abdominal pains Sunday night after we got home from the ride and they just kept getting worse. Tuesday morning my wife took me to my family doctor and he sent me over to Boston Imaging for a CT Scan. Sure as heck, my appendix was very swollen. I went straight to the ER from there as they thought it was going to rupture, and from the ER straight into surgery. Unfortunately it did rupture just before I went in to the OR. Just got home from the hospital last night. Pretty sore and uncomfortable right now."

He will be off work for a week or so. I told him he has to learn to stay away from the Bakery, that stuff obviously isn't good for him.  Grin

Keep him in mind for the near future, a burst appendix is no laughing matter even though it was just when they were getting ready to operate. I'm just thankful it didn't happen on the ride.

Kim's appendix burst when she was 18. Damn near killed her, still has the scar from the emergency surgery.
Scary stuff.

Glad Jeff is OK!

Jeff,

Sorry to hear that happened to you, but also praise the Lord you had it happen at the right place. A friend from my CT church had his rupture, but NOT near medical care facility and he had a tough time for a couple of weeks from the poison in his own body.

Glad you are OK, and starting the healing process. Viv and I will be praying for your quick and complete recovery.

Shocked Jee-ho Jeff! Sorry for the late reply as I had not been on the board all week. Thank goodness you went to the ER on that. Hope your healing well now. At our "middle" ages, appendix would have been the last thing one would think about having problems with. Hope your back in the saddle soon!
