Got back home in Apple Valley a couple of hours ago. Had a great time with a wonderful group. I am obviously one of the newcomers, most knowing each other for many years. We had a nice ride from Beatty through the mountains, to Olancha and 395.

I took a short video on Dante's View. In the video I mention 17 bikes, but there were 18:

I doubt the weather could have been any nicer in February than the weather we had this weekend.

It was good to see everybody again, I really had fun. My total mileage round trip was 782 miles leaving Blythe.
Thank you all for helping me put on some miles, I now have 1270 miles on my FJR.

It was a great weekend. Thanks to everyone that came out and rode with us. I'll get a ride report up soon. If anyone has any pictures to share send me your links and I'll post them as well.

I'm back also from a great trip.  Thanks again Dave and everyone who contributed.  Good to see some people old and new.  Can't believe I had not had a trip to Death Valley before.

Also thanks Dave for hooking me up on the new Board.  I had been checking the old one but no posts.  I was worried all the SOCAL riders must have gotten old and "kicked the bucket".  Grin  Glad it's not so.

I came home down 95 to Vidal Junction then west on 62 to I-10 home.  Nice ride up on Sat. to meet everyone for breakfast in Baker.  Went through Amboy and Kelso in Mojave Desert with no traffic and great cool weather.  Stopped at Roy's in Amboy for a pic.  Amboy became a "boom" town in 1926 when Route 66 opened until I-40 opened in '73 and then a near ghost town.  I didn't know that Amboy was bought by Albert Okura in 2005 and he promised to preserve the town and reopen Roy's.

I stopped for a pic early Sat and as I pulled in there was a crew doing some filming and a guy tried to wave me off.  I played dumb (easy sometimes) and got the pic of Roy's sign.  they opened in 1938.
