That is a major intersection they plan on closing. I can't believe they are making it a permanent closing.
Makes no sense.
Of course, they tell us nothing. Theory is (at least from friends I've talked about it with) is that 1) that intersection is a sharp angle, and it can be difficult to see safely; and 2) they're about to put in a LOT of new homes/businesses in the area, increasing the number of vehicles that would be trying to cross without a good view.
I was hoping they'd just find a way to straighten it, but it's much easier to simply inconvenience all of us who are used to using that crossover.
The "new" turn has always been there. When I first moved out here, it was paved, barely. The road was fixed a couple of years ago, and it's nice and smooth. I've timed it vs the other, and it's actually a tad quicker. Just feels strange.
It is what it is. We'll all have to adjust. Drat!
