St. Ignace Weekend
August 21st-23rd 2009
 Friday 21st
·   On Friday August 21st we will be leaving from the SPEEDWAY station in Bridgeport I-75 exit 144 at 9:30 am we will travel up I-75 to Bay City and M-13
·   We will take M-13 to Coty Easty Rd. turn right to Old State Rd…
·   Old State Rd. to US-23 in Omer then up US-23 to Au Gres stop at North Port Party Store Gas Station just out of town
·   Back on US-23 we will ride to The Red Rooster restaurant about ten miles North of Oscoda for lunch …
·   US-23 to Alpena Stop for gas at Shell Station just north of town…
·   US-23 to Mackinaw City with a stop at scenic turn off along the way…rumor is we stop at a lighthouse and shipwreck this year.
·   $3:00 toll for Big Mack Bridge then into St. Ignace and hotel…Americas Best Value Inn…800-251-6718 or 906-643-7777
·   We will be going to the Village Inn for dinner they have a nice large room in the back that will seat all of us…good food!
Saturday August 22nd
·   On Saturday morning the Midnight Riders from Grand Rapids will start coming into town at 8:00am …we will welcome them to town out by the road before having breakfast.
·   At 10:30am... we will be leaving the Americas Best Value Inn and heading on a beautiful ride that will include 3 Great Lakes (Huron, Michigan, Superior) nice sweeping curves on two lane tree lined roads to a lighthouse that was built first built in 1855 and rebuilt in 1902…from there we will ride into Sault Ste Marie est. in 1641 and home to the largest set of fresh water locks in the world…many good restaurants and stores for shopping in the Soo…stay and enjoy the town at your own leisure take in the sights and feel free to explore the area…when you are ready to return back to St. Ignace its just a short 50 miles ride down I-75.
·   On Sat. evening we will be having a parking lot party and at around 8:20 who ever wishes to ride in the parade of lights being put on by the Grand Rapids GWRRA are welcome and encouraged to ride up to the Casino and ride in an escorted parade through town …many of us will be riding in this…those that aren’t riding will be encouraged to support us  (and we are well known for our support) also be sure to wear a hat for this event…
Sunday August 23rd
·   On Sunday morning we will be riding to our homes…I normally do not organize a formal ride home and a lot of folks will pair up for their journeys home …

This year we have decided to move our St. Ignace Weekend to a new Hotel

Plenty of hats in town ...plus after our sat. ride we stop in Saulte Ste Marie were the locks are ...lots of stores with hats there...we're already gearing up for this ride...



...all new Hotel with a indoor pool and hottub...did I mention to bring some warm cloth's sometimes it get a little nippy at night at the Straits of Mackinaw...with average daytime temps in the mid to high 70's low 80's

That is almost winter to us, I noticed that the low last week in St Ignace it was in the 60's, that is dead of winter. I'm bring my electric's. When the weather gets around 60 degrees, I light the outdoor fireplace to warm up. Can't wait to see and meet all y'all. OH yeah!!!! we found our hats today Hehehe!!!!!!!!!!! fb

Should've gone to Copper Harbor with us ... 40s overnight   Shocked
... Black Flies, Mosquitoes and other nuisances don't care much for those temps  cooldude.

Hope  you all make StIggy ... (bring those leathers or Gerbings just in case)

I won't be bringing the Valk but I will be there under this hat.  Gosh, I hope that my older friends don't see me wearing this hat, Not! Grin

As far as chilly, I hope that it is.  Gets rid of the gnats and mosquitoes.  I might be a Hoosier but I know Michigan. Smiley Smiley
