Old fuel in air box
«
on:
March 01, 2014, 10:51:02 AM »
When I took my front end apart I decided to pull the tank and change air filter and make it easier to pull some wires and when I took the top off the air box and removed filter there was some old gas (not a lot)in there . I cleaned it up and didn't think to snap a picture but any ideas? On where or why?

That is not gasoline.
The crankcase breather exits in the air box
and that is what you are seeing.
Drool
!
Results of the breather working properly.
The "drool tube" is the drain for the air box.

Thanks it looked like old gas and smelled like it but I guess it would smell that way because of where it is. I just didn't notice it on last filter change.

You need to empty the dragon drool every once in a while, especially if you have been riding in the rain. The drain is the tube on the bottom with the clamp on it. hoser
