need to locate the person that posted the drawing with the dimensions some time ago on a hitch that they were making for their valkyrie interstate. trying to get one made.hicth doc only has chrome one and will not sell one before being chromed and i want to powder coat the one i make.also perfer one that is bolted together instead of welded as hitch doc does. thanks.

all of the drawings that i have come across are just a tad off in one way or the other, and had to be messed with.
Get you a piece of cardboard, and to take a look at your bike. make a couple templates, then draw it up.
it is not that hard, then you can even take the templates to a laser cutter, and they will turn it into steel

3/8" thick. It should fit a standard.

My is 1/4" X 2" flat bar and never had a problem with pulling a trailer. Remember these are pretty light trailers. Proper tongue weight is a key to a good pulling trailer.

I was going to add on either a 1/4" rod or tubing to the side and weld it on to stiffen it up. Also the same to the lower 2 bends to add additional welding, again for support and bracing.
I figure 1/4" flat bar would not be stiff enough, and didn't want the side brace to flex.

Use 3/8" and it won't flex. I built mine out of that and trust me it's plenty strong.
