My brake light was barely lighting up with front brake, found switch at 300ohms instead of closed ckt.  Conditioned pitted contacts, but still high resistance, ended up having to bend one connection to get good contact, but don't really trust it as long term fix.
Is this a common fail item?  Anybody have the part number handy?

TIA

I've replaced mine twice.  $12 fix. from HDL.  Always noticed brake lights were brighter with foot brake than they were with hand brake.

The bar switch is not very waterproof. Just replace it. I repaired mine with a spray of Tef-Lube into the small vent hole and operating it manually before reinstalling it.

Thanks from me too.  Just failed my inspection because I did not realize the switch was misbehaving.

Saved me a lot of looking!
