Inzane? What Inzane? Did they finally give us a ground-zero and a schedule of events? (Billyboy, quickly tell me if they posted that somewhere and I missed it so I can delete this post in a hurry!!)

Link from our Fla. board, same as posted on the General board. The location was announced quite a few weeks back, the registration and hotel info with this link below. If you don't frequent the main board, you should. A lot more going on there plus access to the Tech Board and Classified Board.

Hi, John. That first part was a joke. But I did go to the registration website as soon as announced on the main board but the Ground Zero & Schedule of Events pages are blank. Some of us need to know that info in advance as we can't attend the entire time. When you go to register for day passes, it asks which day ... kinda hard to know without the schedule.

Billy

I am working on it and it is looking good for me as well, I am really looking forward to my first Inzane.

I ran into TC from Kissimmee on Sunday as I was heading back from Daytona, he would also like to go so we will wait and see if he can make it happen.

I talked to a couple of Valk riders at Daytona, one of them does not do the online thing so he asked me to give him a call whenever we have a get together and also with the Inzane information.
He is retired so he also has all the time in the world  Smiley

Larue had said that he was looking to go as well but he has not chimed in here in the last couple of weeks, I wonder if he won the LOTTO and took off  Grin

So, who rides and who trailers ?

I'm gonna ride up. Looks like I'll leave Saturday around 5:00-6:00 am. Overnight in GA.
somewhere around Dublin or Madison on US 441 on I-16 or I-20. Then it is a easy ride
to Ashville. Maybe make it as far as Athens. Just depends on how I feel. Im sure some of us can meet up somewhere on I-75 . Anyway there is lots of time from know to then to work it all out.
     Ride safe my friends.   Cheesy

If I get to go...and it's a big IF....I'll most likely trailer up to one of three different close friend's place and leave the car and trailer there. Two are in N.C. and one in north Georgia. That way it gives me a chance to spend some time with either of the three and still be within a couple hours of Ashville. Normally I'd just ride up since it's not that far, have done it in one day a few times before. You're definitely ready for bed that evening. Hope to be able to check in sometime Sunday in time for the "early bird" festivities. I always found it kinda neat to hand around the parking lot the first day just to watch the bikes arrive. I've missed three, don't want to miss anymore.  cooldude

I'm defiantly in for the ride up. Also planning to leave on Sat. the 7th.
We'll see how many are actually going in a couple of months as plans tend to change with the wind.

cooldude I'm heading up on Friday the 6th and going to head to maybe Savannah, Ga to overnight and sample the cuisine. Visit the Georgia State Railroad Museum on Saturday for a few hours. Then head up to Asheville as I booked at ground 0 for Saturday; a day early.(it fit my schedule). Going to spend the week at the hotel, do some riding, lots of shakin' and howdyin', and enjoy the gathering. Leave out on Friday or Saturday from Asheville and head to West Virginia via the Parkway heading east northeast for a few days....
As far as a specific list of events, I would only guess it would be similar in guidlines to those we were given at Inzane 13 last year. As the example:
Sunday: 5-7 early bird registration, 7:30 early bird night
Monday:(all at specific times)registration, vendors open, self guided rides, tech, lunch staff ride, tech, opening ceremonies, daily raffle & drawings, VRCC Olympics - non bike comp.
Tuesday:registration, vendors, self guided rides, memorial ride, tech, state rep lunchen, tech, raffle, block party, parade of lights
Wednesday: registration, vendors, Valkyrie rodeo, Joe Boyd ride, blood drive, tech, tech, daily raffle, Motormama Charity pie auction, blow out party...ya
Thursday: poker run, swap meet, tech, bike show, tech, dinner and awards, mega drawing, closing ceremonies
Friday:CMA bike blessing, cleanup, leave....

Once again, this was last years schedule for what it's worth. Something to see or do everyday!

JamesIII, that's pretty much the schedule of events each year. From time to time they may add an item or two, but in general...that list is what it boils down to. If you're limited in attendance, I'd try making it to the last two days...come in the evening prior. The closing is always fun and is when they hand out all the plaques to various winners. Eight years ago at the Dragons Over The Smokies(DOTS) rally(sorta like a small InZane) I got the Old Farts award; i.e., Oldest Rider....and I was only 68 at the time. That was the year they had the first InZane in Frisco, CO and I attended both. A couple years later they returned to Frisco but I didn't go that time.

Am I understanding this correctly that the event is for the most part over on Thursday night in the past?

Yes!  In years past, the rally used to be Thursday through Saturday which created a problem for many riders. They had to take all of one week, the beginning of the week just to get there, and when it was over Saturday that left many riders with using part of the next week to get home. Really messed up travel and vacation times. So, by moving it to mid-week, most only need to use one week with a weekend on both ends to travel.

Michele and I are leaving out of Ft Myers early saturday the 7th.  Hoping to make it up to around Tifton area which will be halfway for us and finish up in Waynesville, NC at Todd & Pennie's place Sunday afternoon.  If the weather is good we'll try a campground.  It would be nice to ride up with anyone going.

Speaking of Todd & Pennie's place ... we would like to have a cook-out for our FL friends on one of the less busy Inzane days, which is why I've been so grumpy about not having a schedule yet. We have a place just off the route of The Rattler, which is a fantastic ride from Hot Springs to Waynesville. In case you haven't been on this ride, it is the kinder, gentler little brother to The Dragon. Still has lots of turns but better in my opinion because 1) no heavy traffic, 2) no crazy sportsters, 3) no predatory cops, 4) some open valley with pastoral scenery (love to see cows and silos).  Rattler description:  http://smokymountainrider.com/?p=4295

Anyway, will post more later when we see the official schedule. But hope to do some riding with those in FL group not going on the big group rides, then have you over for some vittles.

If you are going to stay at groud zero for a night it would be Thursday as like John said they
give out the awards and all the hooplaha that evening. Lots of fun.   Cheesy  Hope to see you soon.
I'll be in the wind tomorrow and Sunday to check out some new roads up north.
