Been working/learning this new board. With help from great people (my experience all VRCC folks great) I have been learning the ropes. Kind of re-connecting with old friends and making them right here.

Okay, and this is probably a stupid question... I know this thing must have a spell checker, where the heck is it?

I'll get out now and come back for an answer... got to read up more on this board.

Spell checking doesn't appear to be included in the reply editor. I use Apple's Safari (for a PC) as my browser and it automatically checks for spelling errors when I type. I like that! I need that! I used to resort to editing a reply in Word and then copy/pasting the final spell-checked text into my reply. Safari has made that obsolete (and Safari is faster & free.) This is where you can get it: http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

Mine spell checks as I type.  Lets me know by underlining the word in red.  Right click on the word and several options will come up.  Click on the correct spelling and it replaces the misspelled word. cooldude
I use Mozilla if that makes a difference.

Simple Machines can do spell checking, but it requires phpSpell to be installed on the server....which we do not have at this time.  I can ask Steve to install it or you can use: ieSpell http://www.iespell.com/ , as if you didn't already have enough toolbars in IE.

Personally, I use Firefox, which does spell checking right out of the box.

Scott/Steve/Jeff k

I agree with Mozilla. I have built a new computer from scratch and after reading reviews after reviews.... It appears that IE (internet explorer) gets hit many more times with viruses than Mozilla (firefox).   I have used Mozilla from the start of firing this thing up.  I game online a lot and need to protect from viruses.. So here are my two cents...

Download mozilla http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html

And they have fantastic add-ons that protect you from viruses...
I like the adblock Plus https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865
and NoScript  https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722

Those are my recommendations....

If you have XP and a good firewall you don't need those other displayer's.   Evil angel coolsmiley tickedoff 2funny

Oh, spell check.  I have [ieSpell] on my machine(s).

Scott referenced it above.      So far it has been a good tool for me.
