I may be ready for a new front tire soon, just recently had the shop do my rear tire and they installed a Dunlop E3 which I'm happy with, but the Avon on the front is starting to look ugly.  Can still go a little while but I believe I've found someone who will mount and balance the tire for me if I bring them the wheel and tire.  Another E3 for the front will cost about $170 at Bikebandit with shipping and tax.

Google the tire you would like to get and find the lowest price on line... the call Direct Line Parts (DLP) and have them price guarantee it, which will make it even less.    I had an E3 on the front of my VTX and hated it, it was too wide and wore out the same time the rear did... but I maybe have had a bad one (just like any other brand has theirs).

This is just my opinion, but I considered buying online but people I knew in some cases had issues with new tires. This included many different brands. So I figured if I bought a tire online and had them put on and there was an issue that I would have to pay to take it off and send it back for replacement. In the mean time the bike would be sitting with no tire, out of commission till the new one came in. So I ended up buying from a local tire place that specialize in bikes and if there where issues they would take care of it like now.

Looks like Dennis Kirk is the cheapest for the front E3 by a few dollars (only five bucks to ship and no sales tax? WOW).  Any suggestions on a better tire than the E3 for the front?

I have used Direct Line Parts, dennis kirk and others but the best place and prices I have found is with ridedirect.com. I ordered two shinko rear tires the other day and had them in two days. The company is located in east Kentucky. I have no ties with the company.

www.swmototires.com

If you buy two or more tires...you get free shipping.  Their tire prices are not the cheapest, but when you figure in shipping costs, they beat most others.

Have not ran them long enough to say. Will post after putting some miles on them. Ridedirect is free shipping over $200.00.

That's the beauty of online purchase is it's tax free in most cases.

You might look at Ron Ayers and Competition Accessories (sister company to Tire Express).

I just bought the Metzler ME880's from Motorcycle-Superstore.com. They have shops that you can have the tires sent to, just take the bike and have 'em put on.  Front and rear came to $363.98 with free shipping.
