Kim on her Shadow passing over bridge in the Keys.

Bud & Mary's on Islamorada

Pigeon Key on the 7 mile bridge.

Labor Day 1935 hurricane memorial on Tavenier {I think} Kim's family lost 2 children in that storm. their names are on the memorial.

Guess where this was taken!

The Lobster. It's still somewhere along US1. You can't miss it.

You must visit & take a pic here!

Go here.

Rooster on the roof of the Hog's Breath Saloon. Chickens are all over KW.

Mel Fishers is a must see. I love Florida history.

Do see... Hemingway House, Mel Fishers, Southern White House, Mallory Square sunset. Rent some scooters or bicycles & go off the beaten path.
Most of all, have fun!

That lobster was moved about 8 years ago. It used to be a lot more vivid in it's coloring. Fl. sun does that to everything.
Spent a few nights and days on Duval St. and Malory Sq. Fun place.
Have a great time.

That memorial is on Islamorada. Just to the South of the Church. And to the South of Mr. Pete's if that is still there.
Grew up on that island.

Sloppy Joe's Bar.  What fond, beer-soaked memories from my past.  Came closer to being arrested there, than any other time in my life.  Who knew the gendarmes would get so angry if you walked across the street with your beer?   Lighten up guys, I didn't spill any.

It ended poorly, and I outran their cruiser on foot (3/1975).  I couldn't beat John Schmitt's times, but my 10.8 hundred was good enough.

Here's some mo'.
Somewhere in KW.

Bed race down Duval Street. Conch Republic Days.

Kim buying Kino sandals.

Inside Sloppy Joe's.

Parking space at a premium in KW.

Bahia Honda.

Too small!

Arriving at the Banana Bay Resort in Marathon.

The bikes getting a well deserved rest. After the 12 hour ride down the West Coast & across the Everglades on the Tamiami Trail Kim never moved her Shadow. she rode on the back of mine on all our excursions!

Another trip on the R3 & my '97. After this ride I sold the rocket & got Kim her own Valk.

Key Colony on Marathon.

Robbie's at around MM77 or so.

Got to KW early... an hour later the R3 was surrounded by scooters.  Grin

Shadow in Paradise.

Why can't I grow cool palms like this in Marion County??? The weather sucks up here.  Undecided

Latest trip. Stayed at a B&B in KW just a few blocks from Duval St.

"The pose"

Pic not altered, humidity on the lens.

At the Hurricane Memorial on Islamorada. Just rode through torrential rains on Key Largo.

Kim's relatives on the Memorial roster of the dead. The two last name Foyle. They were children.

Next time we go we will stay even closer to Duval Street.
Word of advice if you stay & ride to the Keys, ask about parking for bikes. Sometimes parking is off site. Uh, NO.

Did you feed the tarpon at Robbies? I know that our kids had fun doing that years ago.

The breakfasts at The Hungry Tarpon Restaurant were always tasty and filling. Maybe eaten there a dozen times. Spent a lot of time reading the bumper stickers on the walls above the grill area. Very edifying. Grin

Hope the weather hangs in there for you.

All these pics are from years gone by. Rick & Kristie are the board members that are there by now I hope!
We didn't feed the tarpon, we were there to inquire about the tour of the Matheson estate on Lignumvitae Key. There is a boat shuttle that leaves from Robbie's. Kim's family used to live there before the 1935 hurricane.
Once I started posting Keys pics, I just couldn't stop!  Shocked Shocked Shocked
