I have one on MGM, both as a 2 wheeler and as a Trike with no problems.

I have the free flowing, don't ask the part # as I have tossed those receipts in the grinder.

I've had it on about 4 or 5 years now.

It pulls like a scalded dog all the way out over the $$ mark.

There are different approachs, do a search and you will find a lot of useful information . "How to" is also in the service manual. Have you downloaded  a copy at Dag's site? I use a large faced vacuum guage to sync carbs.

I have one on my interstate, but it is used to control my air horn.  You can just make it out on the right of the resevoir.

Skinhead, I'm surprised on that, due to the orifice size difference between the Dan-Marc Solenoid and the Hadley one.  Obviously it works, or you wouldn't be using it.  I recently replaced my Hadley solenoid on my Hadley air system powering my Grover horn (and my air shocks, tire filling hose).  That was after it started leaking after a dozen years or so.  Bought a cheapo solenoid on ebay from China, leaked internally from the start.  Bought another Hadley and it works fine.  Found it at a decent price too.

Oh yeah I also have a Dan-Marc on both Deerslayer and my Honda lawn tractor.  Normal one, no filter.  Installed for maybe a dozen years. Works fine, never a problem.  Mine is powered by a relay wired as a latch with hidden pushbutton and LED indicating on, so it also functions as an anti-hijack / theft device.

I used the Dan Marc as a proof of concept as I had one laying around waiting to be installed on the fuel system.  Since it worked on the air horn, I never installed a fuel shut off.  Do you have a link to the Hadley valve?  (I'll do a search for it) but so far things are working fine.  When I first looked for solenoid valves everything that came up was too big and/or too expensive.

It was actually JC Whitney selling it on ebay, price was higher than I remember at $38 with shipping free. It is item #370915219698. I see it's still listed under that number at ebay.  That price is $20 off list.

When I built my system I used a modified Pickup AC accumulator as it had a 40psi pressure switch on it, I wired the pressure switch to 2 relays that control when the compressor shuts off (40psi) so I'm running  a relatively low pressure system.  I'm using a $25 harbor freight compressor, bought the horn for $10 at a swap meet, so I got about $75 tied up in in it.

Are all hoses going down with no incline anywhere in the lines. Carbs are gravity fed.

Which model of Dan Marc did you install? The ones with filters have been a problem for some (model 152 maybe). When they change it out for a non filtered model things are fine.   Undecided  I've used the non filtered type and have had no issues.

What kind of shape is your petcock in? When you put your tank back on, did you make sure the vent line didn't get kinked?

Take your spare key, open the gas tank cap, and go for a rdie with it open.   NO problem with running, even after your 1/4 mile, you have a kink in your vent line.

If you want to leave with the key in the closed tank lid, and wait for the staggering, pull off to the side of the road and open the gan tank lid.   If you hear a phoose, the vent line is kinked.

No biggie, just take the bolt out the the rear of the tank and raise it enough to get a small piece of wood under it and then pull on the vent hose at the bottom.   It should straighten out.   Put the bolt back in and presto, you fixed it.

Ok I hate to sound stupid but where's the vent line,I was thinking on the petcock there was just vaccum and fuel.

The tank vent line is the small one at the back of the tank. Behind the petcock.

When you removed the tank there should be 3 hoses,2 go to the petcock(#1 fuel line larger of the 2 and #2 the vacuum line) and one behind the petcock.
Don't think you can eliminate it there is a nipple for it built into the tank.
It could be possible I guess that you put the vac line to it and not the petcock? Which would make the petcock not work properly and be drawing a vac on tank vent . Just a thought. It would be hard to do but possible.

Yeah vaccum is definitely on the petcock and had to stretch bait to get it on,It was one of the new vaccum lines that I put on.

So if the vent hose is not on it really shouldn't affect the running? Because I would still breathe

It should unless it has something clogging it. Very easy to check to see if hose is there just remove back tank bolt and lift a bit you can see it.
Getting that hose back on is to me the hardest part of putting the tank back on. I have LARGE hands ya see Undecided

That is the reason I use a long pair with a curved snout needle nose pliers.  I have 2 pair, the other pair is straight nosed.

http://www.amazon.com/Sunex-3706-16-Inch-Needle-4-Piece/dp/B0002NYDR6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396202258&sr=8-1&keywords=extra+long+needle+nose+pliers

I think the middle 2 are what I have.    I bought  mine seperate at Northern  Tool when they had a tool sale a long time ago.
