Hey Guys, I am going to cut/mill some clamps from 1 X 1.75 aluminum stock to relocate the gauges in anticipation of receiving my Woodies. I am wondering if someone who has a set of the XF6 clamps could take a measurement from the bars to where the bend is on their clamps is to give me a starting point. Thanks

From the back of your clamp it is 5" to the up turn with 1" turned up. The fX 6 relocation is a three piece clamp the clamp itself is 2 pieces and the the flat stock pice which the gauges mount to. Also remember that you will need a longer speedo cable. But all other wiring and such is long enough stock.

Cut out the blanks and milled the edges, then decided I needed to be riding today instead of messing around in the shop......

Don't know who makes them or how much longer but they are quite a bit longer. I can't get to it to measure right now but if I remember tomorrow I will check it out for you.

Well, I got the clamps done today,, here is what I ended up with. There are some machining marks I did not get completely filed out before polishing, but I felt I was spending entirely too much time on them and started to feel guilty as there are other things in the world that need doing........ Anywho,, I had the spedo off for measurements,, and after finishing the clamps, I put the spedo, windshield, and headlight back together and was going to go for a ride... Bike wont start... well first thing I think, it's the starter switch, it's always the starter switch. I take the switch out and apart, but cannot get the bike to crank even when jumping the terminals...!! Well, I figure it must be in the headlight bucket as I had been messing with the wiring in there,, out comes the electrical tools and I get into the wiring. I had rewired the kill switch to use as the switch for my spots awhile back, so I take apart all the connections I made as I had not documented anything, and I found I did a pretty good job and had soldered everything and used good crimp connectors where appropriate,, everything looks good.. Now What,, did the bank sensor or starter relay go bad just setting here for the last couple of hours?? I start tracing starter voltage from the headlight bucket when it pops into my big brain that the neutral light is not on... DAH .... OK, everything goes back together and I get to ride for a few miles..... sweet going to be cloudy and rain tomorrow.

I hear ya Jimmetee,,, I just thought these looked a little more substantial than the $200 ones,, plus they are custom..... AND, that $200 can go into my tank while I'm runnin around Colorado.
