Been working on an old boat for about a year now. Got my butt in gear and finished it for an Antique Outboard meet we held up on the Suwanee River. Original engine didn't pan out (yet) so I went with an engine I had in the garage that I had not run in around 22 years or so. Freshened up the water pump in it and cleaned the points. Started second pull so I went with that engine.
Best viewed in full screen......enjoy!

Reminds me of some good times I had with my Dad and our son catching Redfish over there.  We were in the East Pass of the Suwannee and we thought our son was hung on a root.  Turned out to be a BIG redfish.  We had him hold the fish way out in front for the picture.  Fish was as tall as he was.  Nice rig by the way.  Glad it worked out that you got one going.

That light weight rascal seems to jump up on plane with very little effort. Looks good.

Thanks for the kind comments!
Doing this hobby is fun and relaxing as well. I have around 5 vintage hulls now and am scared to count how many antique and vintage engines are in the "fleet".
Add two more "modern" hulls just for fun. One fishing and one for messing around and the neighbors are starting to think I have a boat yard at the house............I do!

Pretty darn cool.   cooldude

When I was a kid, I had small wooden jon boat with a 7.5 horse Johnson of about that same vintage on it.

Nice looking outfit you have there . The 18 sounds very good .  I am thinking HP had to rated differently back then. When I was a kid grandad had 16' Thunderbird . glass boat with a 35HP.It was an Evinrude same colors as your 18 best I recall . They would pull 2 and 3 skiers at a time . Not kids but 20 somethings . Well off point here . Anyhow enjoy your hobby which ever one it is today.
