my name is chuck. I have been riding my valk for 13 years. for the last 2 and a half years I have been battling bone cancer in my left arm. I just had my 5th surgery on the arm to remove a tumor that keeps coming back. my problem is that so much muscle has been removed I cannot extend my fingers to reach the clutch lever. can anyone think of a way I can make it so that I can use the clutch and be able to ride a little bit longer. the drs say that the next time it comes back they will have to remove my arm at the elbow, then I am done riding my wonderful fatt gurl. until then I plan to go down fighting. thanks in advance for any ideas.

Send a PM to Bandit in New Mexico.

He is a 1 armed rider, and does a tremendous job at it.

He can fill you in on what he did to his bike so as to ride it.

Oh yes, it is a 2 wheel Valkyrie, not a Trike version.

I thought I had a picture of im on his bike, but can't find it now.   Hope I didn't lose it when my disc drive went South.  I thought I had recovered all of my pictures on it.

Ditto on contacting Don aka Bandit for some input. Don's mods were done on the left side.

RJ here's a shot I had from 06 Frisco, CO Inzane I believe. Don and Scott battling it out on the Slow Race.

RJ I think I saw a picture of him at one of the GOTF. This was on one of the video's that was out right before the BBQ took place this year. Hope this helps.

I believe I saw him doing full-lock-turn figure eights at the
Gettysburg ride...

I lead him and some others into the boonies on the Fall Color Ride
a few years ago... once we got close enough to Robbinsville
on the way back that everyone knew where they were again,
his and some other tail lights disappeared over the horizon  Wink

I don't know how much range of motion/strength you have, but Kuryakyn, Add-On, and I think one other vendor sells an adjustable set of levers that will fit the bike (with a little modification).  The swap is an easy job, thou you have to cut off a small tab (the ones we use are for 1800 Wing).  The reach to lever is decreased somewhat from stock, when adjusted.... but I cannot know if it is enough for you.

The mod is an easy cut-off of a tab on the clutch side.  I have installed several sets of these... and one time I had a bit of trouble with my brake light staying on for a few seconds after releasing the lever (as described in the link below); a little tweaking and it went away.
