No.  I have a 6.5' bed and it barely fits.  The rear wheel sits on the hinge of the bed so at least there isint very much weight resting on the gate.  A whole other foot more to the rear puts the rear wheel in the center of the tail gate.....horrible idea bouncing down the road

I wouldn't have a problem with the rear tire on the tailgate with a piece of 3/4 plywood across bed and tailgate.

The uhaul motorcycle trailers are like $15/day and are super easy to load. You can ride right on and off.

As I was renting the uhaul motorcycle trailer a guy was returning one to get a larger trailer. His goldwing was to long.

Measured it out and my interstate would have the back wheel right on the edge and the ramp would be trapped. Rented the 8x12 with sides for about $25 and it fit just fine

Problem Solved! I am going to Phoenix for a few days and I just said F it and rented a truck with a ramp. No fuss, no muss. and I can get it myself.  Thanks for the feed back
