2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« on: April 27, 2014, 06:10:29 AM »

My day started here. I met James and had a great morning ride. It was quite comical while waiting, there were strange folks dancing around trees and singing to shrubbery and then yelling and pointing fingers at their imaginary friends. James explained this to me, there is a local nut house near by. They must have been out for their morning stroll.

My bike

James arriving

James Bike

First Fuel stop is when I noticed the love bugs were out, but really not too bad. My bike only has a few.

I think we got the only shaded parking, Rick & Kristy were first on scene and she was tired. Rick had her stay up all night polishing their sparkling Interstate and it showed. Good job girl cooldude

This area was roped off for the white tiger, hope someone got his pic I didn't. He was big and beautiful...like a Valkyrie.

Kim's bike

One of Eddies Valks

Billyboy and Bob...hey that's Billy-Bob Grin

Happy Gil

Sherry on one of her Valkyries, can't keep track. Sorry about your head, I burped Embarrassed

Paul's trike, signaling a satellite

I'm not sure who's this is but I like it cooldude

Jack and bike, good talking with you Jack. Sharp looking Valkyrie. Woops, sorry about your head too. Guess I was excited about your bike.

I can't remember what happened here, I thought they were going to come to blows. Kim said one more puff of smoke and I'll rip that thing out of your face. Grin

I don't know if you all saw him. Little guy just below the deck watching us eat.

Nice job Eddie picking this place and coordinating for us. They did a fine job, as did our waitress. I got the chicken biscuit sliders with pickles and ranch dressing, awesome.

John Schmidt drank so much "Twisted Tea" they wanted to give him this.

Pleasure meeting you English Dave, you fit right in with our group.

And now to this...Somehow Pappy always seems to attract the young attractive types, so I pulled her aside and had to ask. What is it about this guy? She said "he reminds me of my grandfather"

Doug & James bikes

John Schmidt on the dismount, Pete keeping score. John only received a 7.5 because the back rest was down. Pete assured me it would have been a perfect 10 if he cleared the rest in the upright position.

Several folks really liked that thing. Me, not so much.

Gil & Greg...Nice display of classic Valk cooldude

BCoy and the "B" is for Big. Nice talking with you Bill.

Grumpy, you were missed. I'm sure you'll be ready to roll somewhere close on a maiden voyage before Inzane

Sure got noisy when all the Valks got cranked up. All the others in the parking lot just stopped and looked and listened. Like they could do anything else when all that started up!   cooldude

No problem brother, you got the important part, the bike  2funny

Thanks for sharing your pics

I got to say that it was great when we all mounted our fat ladies and took off as a group.
Nothing like a long line of Valkyries riding down the road  cooldude

I have done lots of group riding, as a road captain and as a rider.
I have to say that Valkyrie riders know how to ride and I am really proud to be a part of this bunch  cooldude

Great as always Doug!  cooldude

Btw, once I factored in the "advanced age factor", John did get a 9.75. Besides, I know how hard it is to get ones leg over that darned backrest without folding it down. Geez, how convenient that Des put a hinge back there.

Viv and I had a great Day. Thanks to Eddie for thinking of this and getting us all to "march" in one direction.  Smiley

For what it's worth, IF I had to choose a new Honda, it would be between a CTX1300 and and F6B. I'd probably go for the F6B from a pure "utility" standpoint. If I was adding another bike to the stable, and the Valk was staying with me (which it is) I'd get the XTX1300 because it just seems like it would be a blast to ride. Just a little short on storage for trips.  Undecided

The problem is that with either choice I'd have to give up something, while with the Valk Interstate, I have all of those things. Oh well, guess I'll keep my wallet closed at least for now. cooldude
