According to  the official  Honda Service  Manual I own  crankcase fill is:

after draining /filter change  3.7 litres

at disassembly 4.3 litres

Since Ive had my 1998 Honda Valkyrie Tourer had 2 oil changes.

Been using Rotella T-6 for the  2 changes.

The Rotella 1 gallon jug T-6 holds 3.875 Litres .

.175 litre difference  ,     how much is that ?  a tablespoon full? cooldude cooldude

Is there a question in that statement?

It's been mentioned before. Like you said, how much, a tablespoon full?

Oil is left in the container.

How long did you let your bike drain.

Stock oil filter, or larger after market (which holds a little more oil).

No Im cool.
I read post last year where one said  add a 1 gallon rotella jug and don't just completely drain it. and youll be fine.

according to vrcc the eom Honda  and pure1 have the same capacity even the longer pure 1 longer version.

But some  V owners say to use the oem filter as it has a backflow built in.

Mu initial post was that the difference between spec and Rotella gallon .

Im gonna get a picture up soon and your gonna see my  98 Tourer. (no fone camera even )

just wanted to point out the .175 ltre  difference. ( just shy of 2/10ths of a quart)

Yes , I drained it  for 20 minutes and  tilted   to the right a long time  and  drained very well.

I read the oem filter has backflow prevent and pureone's don't-  if ya looked inside  an oem you see   a know  in there .

I read also that the oil capacity on a 4610 and longer 4612 PO have same capacity.

Newbie/ Valkyrie greenhorn says,    :cooldude:Thanks

Geeze, won't anyone answer the poor man's question? 0.175L = 11.835 tablespoons.  Grin
