I was putting the lift under her to begin the process of redoing the fork seals and found this under there. Any ideas what I have going on here?

One good splash of sticky gunk.

Periodically, in addition to a wash, I get a can of foaming engine degreaser and do (just) the underside.  Maybe a little stiff brushing, then hose it off.

I don't do it MY driveway.

S100 or even mag wheel cleaner works too.

I am assuming there is a crush washer on that drain plug, yes?

Wash job NO. Have been riding the heck out of it while I do repairs after going down 2 months ago. Crush washer YES.....but never paid any attention to that hole behind the oil plug before. What the heck is it?

There is a hole on ea. side like that. It is engine casting hole. nothing goes there. Was used for casting the engine block.

kyrie thanks....I'd rather it be poor bikekeeping than a problem with the block. New fork seals this weekend....new paint next weekend.....riding my a** off on her after that.

Thanks to all....

Besides what kyrie6 said, it's the place where people hang their removable jack adapters...

Have you got a stays-on-bike-adapter?

A wooden adapter?

No adapter (how do you raise your bike?)...?

I thought those holes were to keep your gum warm.

Have you been riding in the GA swamps? Might be algae from the black lagoon.

There is no telling. As long as it's coming from the outside and not the inside, I am good.
