Simple simple question. I have searched for 30 minutes and cannot find the answer. i find a lot of stupid questions concerning the pigtail but none address the polarity other than to sayh make sure it's correct.

OK

The pigtail has one exposed connector and one that's insulated. when you connect it to the battery maintainer the exposed terminal goes into the insulated terminal and vice versa. If someone can tell me which battery terminal the exposed connector hooks to I'll be home free. The plug is not marked and the wires are black and white. Don't want to ASSUME anything.  Cry

Plug in the battery maintainer and check the polarity with your VOM. If you don't have one, you may want to pick up an inexpensive one,,, they are critical for electrical work.

Remember: When the pigtail is loose on the bike, you DON'T want the exposed tip to be hot. Make sure the battery connection is POS to the covered tip.

Thanks, this answers the question perfectly. I should have thought of this.  Embarrassed
