Doing the rear end service since I'm installing a new rear tire. My thrust washer looks good and measures .041 thick as I go around the circumference. Not on the cheap but local dealers don't carry them. And I want to get the bike back together. (Replaced O rings, dampeners, and valve stem retainers) Any info on the thickness of a new or newer thrust washer would be much appreciated!

It is an OEM Honda part, thus there are no aftermarket Teflon thrust washers that will work.

It is not that expensive, and unless it is wrinkled, torn, or otherwise extremely damaged, reuse what you already have.

It's there to protect the bearing seals and shouldn't truly be called a "thrust washer".

Not the complete story Momz,, that thrust washer is there as a damper between the wheel and flange which can move in the wheel as the dampers will allow as there is torque applied and removed (throttle on throttle off) without a proper thrust washer the aluminum wheel hub will be damaged and eventually  destroyed by the steel driven flange moving against it,,, and then tear up the damper retaining plate screws.

A new thrust washer is about .040, so you are good valk.

Someone had left the thrust washer out of mine at the last tire change before I purchased it..... needed new wheel, new flange, new final splines.

My story too. First time I took the back wheel off, found everything destroyed.

I had the same concern about measuring and replacing the thrust washer. Last time I pulled the back wheel and measured the thrust washer, I compared it to a new one right out of the package. The old one was thicker by.005". I just reused the old one. Evidently new ones can vary in thickness.
