Soon I am going to be riding a 2000 valkyrie standard, but first I need new tires for it.  I have decided to give the metzler me880 a shot.

When I was shopping around for these tires I noticed that they offer the front tire in the valkyrie size in both H and V speed rating.  The rear is only available in the H rating, but the metzler website says to run the V rated front.  The V is about $40 more than the H.

Do you guys run the H or V rated front on your valk?  If you are running the H have you seen any issues?

Thanks.

i am on the end of my 2nd front Metzeler.
i never heared about possible H rating.
checked my tire : i've been running the V, very happy with it.

my rear Metzelers only lasted 8.000 kms, i'm now running Darkside.

I ran one metzeler on my 98 std. I won't be running another soon. It wore out on the left side. I did get close to 19,000 on it but that is the least of all the front tires I have run.  None of the other tires I have run on the front wore out on the left like that. The only difference is I have a CT on the rear. I have tried one Avon and I am now on my 2nd bridgestone. The avon and the bridgestone both went over 20,000 and wore out evenly. I have the bridgestone on now because of price only, about $115, the avon was more and they both last about the same for me.

I made that mistake. The cheaper "H" rated tire is a Bias Ply not a Radial.

Get anywhere from 16k on up, depending on my riding style and road hazards. You need to run at least 40 psi in front, used to run 42 in back with the Metz 200 until I changed over to a CT. Now just have the Metz in front, been there about two and a half years.
