This is my 2nd Valkyrie, sold first bought a street glide, , just was not the Valkyrie so i sold the Street glide and just purchased another Valkyrie. Interstate. Turning it into a super Valk. My past Valk I cut the back silencers completely off and install a SS stack/tube exhaust over the existing exhaust m sounded great, I miss that sound, but will it hurt my  motor to do the same to this one. Read about cutting the 3 tube, etc but I love to hear that sound nothing else out there comes close, What to do. I am at that point my Valk is apart, waiting

my bike had the glasspack mod. for a long time, now I took the packs out and been running straight out of the collector into 4in pipes. Bike runs great and sounds good no problem at all. I've got 175,000 miles on this bike.

I would advise that if you're contemplating cutting the piggies to NOT cut them flush with the baffle plate.  Leave at least an inch so that if you regret cutting them at a later date (note that many upon many do), then you'll have enough there to rebuild them.

On the other hand, you have an unmolested exhaust only ONCE.  Buy used for what you want or buy a set of Cobra's and take the baffles out if you want loud.

Yes just cutting off entire rear piggies, not the 3 small piggies but about 2" of the pipe in front. So piggies and 2" of exhaust would be removed.

cut off my piggies, drilled through the first baffle, installed 4"x48" chrome truck stacks, installed Grumpies exhaust tips and then finally Rex Slip-in Insert Silencers.  In a word. . .

WOW!   Cheesy

Highly recommend AND no exhaust drone since I installed the inserts.

Probably not on rejetting.  If I were you,  I do a serious search on exhaust mods. You have a lot of options. I'm with BF , purchase a used set of pipes and cut them up. Roll Eyes

Not unless you start drilling though or removing the front set of baffles.

It's your ears.  However, before you start cutting and drilling, I'd really do some searching on the subject......especially, search for drone.

Been there, done that, regretted it.

I had two Valks at the same time. One with totally stock pipes and I really loved the way it sounded.
The other, I cut the piggies an left about 1/4", plenty to weld to if I wanted to go back. I liked that sound, but I drilled thru the piggy holes with a 1/2" drill. I liked that better. Then I welded about a 18" rod to the bit and drilled thru the front of the baffles. Better. Added 36" stacks. Better. There are times I wish it were loud. But then I enjoyed riding the one totally unmodified.

Conclusion: I like 'em stock, and I like my mod, though mod not very radical. The mod will cause a little loss in low end power it seems. 38's in the slow jets helped. No real noticeable loss of power at speed, but this m/c has power to spare.

If I could afford it I would invest in some Mark-T professionally built pipes.

Yes mine are straight out. I have about 3in of the stock collector and then shwegde down to 2in where mufflers used to connect. If I keep it under 4 grand it really isn"t that loud. Smoking Joe pulled up next to me on a ride at Galveston and said that SOB sounds good. enough said
