Hello Valk riders. I am new here and also new to owning a 1999 Valkyrie c . The bike has some kind of racing handlebars that i need to lean forward and am having a hard time with control going slow on turns like in a parking lot. I had a HD 1200 roadster that I had no problem with control. I recently sat on another Valkyrie and realized how much I need the stock handle bars, my question is what would be comparable for after market handlebars that came with the bike in 1999. Also what would the risers be. The cables look ok but not sure yet. Any help would be great,Thanks (new name - fall down a lot)
Thanks,Bill

OEM bars are not expensive.....just start by ordering the real thing, not something close and see what that does. HDL is where I got mine

But, the IS bars are only a quarter inch shorter (one eighth inch per side) than std/tourer bars. You would not know the difference.

All I'll say is have a nice thick blanket covering the gas tank when you go to replace the bars.
If you are going to repaint the bike, ignore the above statement, but also plan on some metal work prior to paint, IF ya leave it uncovered..

Get some 1.25 bars, you can run the wiring inside and really cleans up the front. Plus the fatter bars really give the bike a beefy look. They narrow down to 1" in the center and on each end so you don't have any trouble mounting them on the Valk with the Valk's controls. I got a "blem" with almost identical measurements as the OEM bars....under $150.

Check ebay. There's usually handlebars and stock risers on there. Check with pinwall on ebay.

You would not know the difference. that big guy who hasn't posted in awhile had a I/S and std and said one of the bikes always hurt his wrist. so some if might make a difference, just something someone should know about or just a valkyrie useless fact from me.

I have a set of 1'' to 1.5" drag bars with integral risers. They are pre-drilled for inside wiring. Sent me a PM if your interested and I'll email you some pictures.
