i'm interested in possibly getting these mirrors, but i don't know if they will work on a valk. anyone know what they mean by perch housing?

The mirror perch.
In other words the part that the mirror mounts on (perches on).

Our mirror mounts don't have a hole through them.  I doubt these mirrors will work on the Valkyries. 

A project you may want to check into is http://www.2-bseen.com/.  They mount above the mirror and give both forward and backward indication.
