What generation do you own, and is it easy to see in the sun?

Bighead, Thanks for the reply. I have been doing the same as you for the past few years. Last week in Myrtle Beach my TomTom 720 stopped working. The plug in the unit broke and it could no longer take a charge. Since I needed a new one anyway, I figured I would go with one made for motorcycles. I just bought a TomTom rider from Amazon about an hour ago.

Rode 175 miles today in bright sunshine. I`ll give the TomTom Rider, one and three quarters thumbs up. It worked great. Easy to read and understand the functions. I deducted one quarter thumb, because when the sun hits it just right, it does wash out the screen. However, as soon as you make a turn in the road or go into the shade you can see it again. It is heads and shoulders above the automobile TomTom I used on the Valk for the past few years, as far as being able to see the screen. I bought a Bluetooth adaptor, so I could hear the directions in my helmet speakers. That also worked well. I think I will be very happy with my purchase, as long as the performance remains the same as today.

I bought it from Amazon. However two days after I made my purchase it was listed for $10.00 less then I paid. I don`t know why Amazon prices jump around, but they do. I paid $359 out the door.

At $359 I think I will stick with my $89 car model Roll Eyes especially now with my job taking a dump. Undecided
