I am about to install new mick o pegs on my standard.  The mount fit very tight around the crash bar support and require wrenching to tighten them.  I am concerned with them crushing the crash bar some or damaging the mounts.  Should I be concerned?  Also should I use locktite on the bolt that holds the foot peg on?

Do not use locktite.
The mounts tighten enough, but the mounts need to move ever so slightly in case you drop your bike preventing damage to the MOPs and the valve cover.
