Hey guys need some input. I just put on a set of cobra six into six exhaust. Love the sound now. Is there anything else I need to do? I've been told I need to rejet the carbs so I don't burn the valves and also make sure there is back pressure. I thought the back pressure was already on there cause it's created by the exhaust. Any info will help greatly. Don't want to harm the bike. It's a 97 1500 tourer btw. Thanks

You may need to re-jet, you may not. Check and see how the mixture is (spark plug inspection) Mine was running rich with the cobras so I went to a K&N filter and now its perfect. No rejetting for me, which is nice, if I want to go back to the OEM pipes it should be easy.

Thank you I will check into that. How long before I check the plugs and notice anything. I want a k and n filter anyways so now I have an excuse to get one. Lol

Allegedly, the sooner you take them out after a ride to inspect, the more accurate the reading/color.
Gloves are a good idea (those peckerwoods get hot).

I just had 6 to 6's installed and did everything, new K&N and Cobra Jet Kit, cleaned carbs and more...
I could not say whether not jetting at all would have been OK. I just did not take the chance.
One thing is for sure tho, she feels way more powerful than before and my MPG went from 30 to 38!
