like a second honeymoon!   sorry forgot to say:
"Congrats" on your marriage.

enjoy In Zane, it will blow your mind seeing all those beautiful valks.  control yourself about buying everything, take close up pictures of stuff you like so you won't forget.  preorder your T Shirt, heard you can't buy them there.  there's so much and your so excited you won't remember everything till later and then go, who had that?  trust me been there done that and learned the hard way.
Be safe!!

Glad you are getting to go Mike and Liz.  We made 3 of them.  Paducah, Johnson City, and the first one that they had in Colorado.  Each one was a little different.  At least you won't have to die of heat exhaustion like we did in Paducah Ky.  If they have rides scheduled and you plan to attend, pick the slower "smell the roses" ride for your first rides in the mountains.  Remember to "look where you want the bike to go".  I know we talked about this some in Palatka I think, but can't stress it enough.  Keep the bike in a gear where you can speed up or slow down with the throttle, like 2500-3000 rpm.  Now that I have that out of my mind, have a good safe time.  I can give you some good roads to ride near Maggie Valley which is a little West of Asheville.  Get your feet wet on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  I could ride the BRP every day of the year. flsix, see u there..

DD thanks on the congrats, we are very happy and had a great day with friends and family.  This will seem like a continued honeymoon for sure. getting my mind blown by all the bikes is on top of my list. then as you advise..
 bring lots of cash ..check
 camera battery charger/camera...check
hope to get some T shirts..check
 safety first.. double check.
Thanks.

Terry, i will take the slower rides first, and keep all your great advise in mind, lots from our Palatka talk too. I appreciate it all. BRP it is then, Sunday morning ride.

Flrider, very cool, how many Fl.yens does that make?? see you there too.

wanted to add my Phat gurl had a docta's appointment this weekend for a check up and physical.. she was given the 'all's clear' by Docta Bert who threw a leg over her and made her cough at least once.. peace of mind for the ride.. thanks Bert.

also for everyone:  if you want to leave your phone on when riding, put it on "flight mode".  it won't keep looking for the web, get calls or text, but your battery will last longer and it's quicker to undo than turn on & off.   Plus you can still take pictures with it on.   good to use instead of vibrate if you don't want to be disturbed.

Hmmm, my flip phone doesn't have a "flight mode" so guess I'll just have to suffer with it....like I've been doing for over ten yrs.  Grin  It's mostly due to the cost of service with these new ones, way too pricey. I can go with one of the offbeats like AIO or similar, AIO is owned by ATT and I can get service for a new phone for a decent price. So why can't ATT or the others simply give it to me for the same price? I admit it....I'm a cheapskate.  Wink
