I suspect my alternator may be getting weak. 12.7 volts output tops. The G/W alternator mentioned in Jeff's crossover listing says the 97 aspencade alternator will work but has to have the cover rotated to mount up to the Valk. What is the amp output for that particular alternator vs the Valk OEM. I have looked back at past posts and there seems to be other options but not sure if they are viable. Any suggestions? I would at least like to carry an extra one to go to InZane. Thanks, Jaybird.

The output is the same, just remove the three screws on the front, rotate the front, not the rear to match the mounting position of the Valkyrie alternator and install it. Any GW alternator from about '90-2K will work.

You just may be actually reading the battery voltage and the alternator could be dead.

In any case, what you have is bad.

MARS will work with you to get on the road fast. Give him a call!

Many on this forum can vouch for MARS as I do.

Thanks for the info all. I talked to Ken at MARS and I think we have a solution. I am looking at his 65 amp upgrade. He seems to be a helpful fellow. Jaybird.

When the alt took a dump on my I/S I went with the M A R S at the behest of this very board. AND I'm pleased that I did-new rebuilt alt and a BRAND NEW Yuasa battery. Still cranking out the life blood of the battery. RIDE SAFE.
