Been here a day or 2 and from what I can tell-some swear by em and some swear at em and some are happy as piglets in new kaka.  2funny Research here on the tech board. Some have stated that after a trigger wheel install higher octane gasoline was needed. My I/S runs fine the way it is I M H O.  cooldude NO-I have not installed an other than stock trigger wheel. Hope I've been some help for ya!!  coolsmiley RIDE SAFE.

Did the simple ECT mod with a 1K resistor instead of a 4 degree TW. The ECT mod tapers of the advance above 3.5k RPM, which means you don't loose any top-end power. Also have an I/S ICM installed along with this.

I put a 6* wheel in MGM at about 13,000 miles.    242K+ and it is still there.   Running 89 octane fuel and don't have any pinging.

Interstate springs in the carbs was the only mods I did later.

MGM runs hard, pulls like a team of Draft horses, and will do it again the next day.

I never went for the ICM modifications.    Too much work to get it changed in my book.

Would I do the wheel change again, YES..

the valkyrie stock ignition curve can use the additional advance at lower rpm but it has the perfect ignition advance at higher rpm so adding the trigger wheel is good if you like more lower end hp/torque but if you twist it up high it will have too much advance and less power....how do you ride answers the question....cruiser or sportier
