In the process of taking my fairing off, I went further than necessary before getting help from the Tech Board and separated the connectors inside the large boots. No biggie since the connectors are all color coded-if only I could remember where the boot bundle on each side was tucked away. I guess it's important to get the boots back to where they should be because of fairing clearance and ease of reconnecting the speaker wires.

I can't tell if they should just hang down, get tucked between the forks and the black fairing brace, or  be secured in another location.

Also, what cables secure behind these clips or does the whole boot end up being secured by these?
Sure wish I would have taken a pic on removal.

Thanks for any help that can bail my rear out.  uglystupid2

I think the boots just hang like shown in picture. And believe the harness from the fairing gets tucked into the hanger. Dont quote me on that but im sure thats the way mine is.

Ok, think I've got it. Thanks Gavin_Sons and 3W-lonerider. Not an easy job for one person to hold fairing and get the headlights/turn signals back in.

Appreciate the help!

Here is a pic of a reinstall of my fairing and on the left with speaker removed you can see how the wire harness/plug is tucked in.

You've got the wires on the wrong side of the shock!

Should go in front of the shock.

You are correct and I fixed that after I took the pic. That was a number of years back and forgot about the wire placement.
