Ok now that I have your attention.... Next upgrade on the ol' '97 Red & White will be a new horn. That weasely little roadrunner beep has GOT to go. (What were you thinking, Honda??) So, I'm trying to decide between the Wolo and the Stebel (or are there others I'm not aware of?). I'm also interested in various mounting configurations, so feel free to attach pics and such of your experiences. I DO have Bakers installed so that is a consideration. I DO NOT have a center stand, lift adapter, or aux. tank, so the underside is free and clear.

I have had 3 different air horns, Rivco, Wolo to name a couple, some trumpets I've pulled off junk cars that had fairly loud attention getters.
3 or 4 years ago, Bill Ferguson aka BigBF stopped here on his way home from InZane, I bought & he installed a set of his 'quads', before we went to supper, and I have never looked back.
They will and they do get peoples attention, and I know of 1 Blue hair who peed her undies when she wandered into my lane. Later I pulled off for gas, she followed me into the station, apologized and then informed me I had almost scared the poop out of her & I did make per wet the undies.
Well worth the clinkies......

I would ask ya to reconsider that relay. Otherwise you will fry so wires in due time,

Between the Wolo and the Stebel, which is the louder of the two? And is the BigBF louder that either of those?

Between Wolo and Stebel I believe they are the same. Any db differences is because they're specs are measured from different distances. I also believe that BigBF's quad horns are louder yet.

I had Stebel on mine, and asked BigBF to wire in the Quads. When done, I got a big smile, and was told BOTH the Stebel and the Quads were wired together. What a sound! It is great.

I've got Rivcos. I just don't like the way they sound. Reminds me of a clown car. I'd rather have something with a deeper tone.

I mounted a Wolo on my I/S using the existing horn bracket towards the front of the engine. I have had it gurgle a few times after riding in heavy rain, but it always works. It is definately loud compared to the stock horn, and it doesn't sound that bad either..
see ya,

Got a measurement for that bracket attaching to the radiator? Any problems getting the pod around that thing, did you have to mod the pod at all?

I would also like a better/louder horn(s). Does anyone have a photo of the BigBF quad horns installed on a standard or tourer?

Larry, I don't have a measurement, but the mounting bolt is nestled between the rear of the radiator, & just under the neck, but not touching either one. No alterations to the pod & 10% more effort to put the pod on again.

I may move mine to the pods.. it doesn't rain here that much, but I like the idea of having two of them to blast my way thru obstacles and it would clean up the front a bit more!
It might almost fulfill that dream of having a rocket launcher mounted on the front of the bike..
