I might need to get a lift. Any suggestions? Price? What kind of adapter will I need to lift my standard for tire changes? Trying to keep things simple. Thanks

If you are going to be doing tire changes, you definitely need a bike lift. If you are not opening a shop with a bunch of monkeys using your equipment, a lift from Harbor Freight tools works fine and is as stable as most and cheap.  Others can be purchased from other sources if you feel you need to spend more money. A lift adapter can be made from wood,

or one made from square steel tubing can be made or purchased on eBay.

If you are not doing any serious work, you can get by without a lift adapter if you are careful with placement of the lift.

I would highly recommend a lift adapter. It's pretty hard to lift it properly without. Wood works just fine. I think I paid $89 for a craftsmen lift and its been great.

Roger on the harbor freight. I got the aluminum low profile. You can take the handle out or drop it down flat and still get to both sides with no problem.

Just a guess, and from reading several years worth of posts, I'd hazzard a guess that the two most bought and used lifts by Valk owners are the Craftsman red and black lift and the HF lift.

I have the Craftsman red and black lift.  It works well for me.  You can usually find it on sale for around 80 to 90 bucks or so.

Lots of folks seem to like the Harbor Freight lift jack too.  I don't know what they cost.

You'll need a lift adapter to use a lift/jack.  There's basically three choices.  The permanent bolt on adapter that stays on the bike, the temporary spoonlander style lift that you take off the bike when done...and a built-it-yourself wooden adapter.

I am really enjoying the Harbor Freight lift my wife got me for my birthday in May. Seems to work well and I love the fact that I don't have to bend over to do everything (like I have to with Uncle Sam).Paid $299 for it with a coupon.

This is what I would recommend. Seems to be the latest and best option being that will be there for when and were you may need it. I have one and works great. Best item and use it regularly. Well worth the bucks in my book.

Sears has their lift on sale currently for $89.99.  It's $79.99 if you're a craftsman tool member and you can save another $4 if you buy it with a Sears charge card.  Comes with two tie down straps.

Thats a scarrie site. Would be afraid to trust that with the heavy Valk. That one arm holding that kind of weight up that high.

I concur with Kyrie6 as far as the bolt on goes.  I have it and it works great with my Larin brand lift.  I think they are still available at farm and fleet.  The reason I went with that is if I ever have an emergency on the road and a shop has to work on it, the lift is always with the bike in case they don't have one.

I'd love to see some more pics (the more the better) of your Valk, or Valks up on that Harbor Freight table lift.   cooldude

I have the craftsman lift and the foot release is a plus as you have both hands to hold the bike while lowering. I did make a block to control how fast the lift will lower  makes it easy to lower and align axles to install by yourself. I don't have any knowledge on the harbor freight lift.

I have the red and black craftsman lift and have not used it after I got the HF lift table. I was never comfortable leaving the bike on the craftsman lift for any length of time so I bought the lift table and been very happy with it. If I don't have time to work on it I just leave it there.
