ok.. i have to ask a general question.. I am going to do some maint tomorrow; pingle, desmog, air filter. So while i have the tank off, should i be doing things like swishing gas around and dumping the tank upside down to get any foreign particles out? is there some sort of treatment that's made for this? or am i just overly concerned, the inside doesn't look bad or dirty..

If you are taking the tank off and removing the petcock, you should pay attention to what comes out of the back of the tank. If you see trash, a good swishing and rinse ain't gonna hurt it.

The internal petcock screen is the only filter (unless you add one).  It can get cruded up, esp down at reserve level.
