The short question is I need one of the brass contact plates for the ignition switch.  Does anyone have an old ignition switch for parts?

The longer story is for the first time in 8 years, my Valkyrie left me stranded.  I believe the gate on the ignition switch self destructed.  In any event, there was a small plastic piece inside the ignition switch that prevented the key from turning the switch.  Had to have my wife bring the tool box and MacGyver the switch to get home.

In the process of disassembling the switch, I managed to lose one of the brass contact plates on the switch.  Of course no one sells the internal parts, only the entire assembly.  Partzilla wants $46 for the switch.  I found one on ebay at $23 ending Sunday with no bids.  But, I managed to get the impediment out of my switch and could put it back together except for the missing contact plate.

Anyone able to hook me up with the plate?

MY MACGYVER JOB TO GET ME HOME.  CUT A PAPERCLIP FOR THE MISSING CONTACT PLATE.

I ASSUME THE MISSING CONTACT PLATE IS SIMILAR TO THE ONE AT THE TOP OF THE DRUM.

Contact that salvage yard.   For the life of me, my short memory has forgot the name of it.  They would have the whole switch I assume for a fair price.   If not, go evil bay.

I'd say you are also missing a spring.    Don't know that for a fact as I've never had a need to tear a switch apart.

I assume there is a spring under that plate to help it make contact when ya turn it on.

pancho: Don't congratulate me too quick.  With 20/20 hindsight, once I unbolted the switch from the frame, I probably could have tilted and shaken the switch to remove the obstruction (and therefore not disassembled the switch and lost the part).  But at the time, I was totally focused on disassembling the switch to determine which wires needed to be connected to get the bike to start.

RJ: Are you thinking of Pinwall in Massillon, OH?  If so, the best I can find at Pinwall is $76 with no key (only $30 more than a new one with a key).  Also, as shown in the photos, I did NOT loose the spring.
