I have a Valkyrie Interstate 99 and there is no fast idle when i apply the choke.anyone have an idea of what it could be. The choke is working because the engine runs rich

Choke has to be pushed past the point of resistance...around another 20 degrees to get it full on and get the fast idle.  Common issue.

+1. If you do not get a faster idle, then you are not applying the enricher properly.

Rotate till resistance, then move it about another 1/4, PUSH HARD, it won't break.

These engines run rich. As the D-man says, make sure you are actually using the choke. It'll move easily, but, once resistance is felt it'll move another 1/4" or so. You can watch the linkage and see that the choke enricheners are moving [ thats the extra resistance].

Take the chrome covers off the carbs which cover the choke mechanism. Make sure the sliders are operating correctly, and that the forks are all located in each of the carb choke plungers  Wink

Sometimes I have to use a little throttle as I am putting the choke on.  But as soon as the choke is on and the idle is up at or over a grand....then I can let go and it idles fast.  I usually release the choke until its at 1,000 and then after a minute or so I can turn the choke off.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.
