Hey I saw a Red and White with 6-6 pipes headed wet on Madison Blvd about 7AM. I was on the Green and Black headed east.

I thought of you and Chris CMJ, and I even reflected on my dearly departed Red and White. I have seen the bike I saw this morning several times, just the first time I posted

Madison is just barely west of Huntsville.  If you pay attention in September, you may see a Blue/Silver cruising in and around.

I am not too far from Madison, but wasn't me. I don't have 6 into 6 on mine either. I got packs and stacks. I have a buddy that lives close by with another red and white, but he also has packs and stacks.

I should be riding in to Huntsville on the 7th of Sept., and staying for business through the 15th.  I hope to get my weekends off, and hit the Smokies some.  If I can't, I'll be doing some more local riding after work.  Any local(ish) rides you can tell me about, or better yet, show me in person, I'd be happy to try them out.

That wouldn't be me.  I live in Houston, but am headed to Alabama for business travel periodically.  Got tired of the rental car last time, so I intend to ride up next month.

head over to Little River Canyon/DeSoto State Park. GREAT riding around the canyon and all around that area! Largest River Canyon East of the Mississippi.

There is also the Scenic Overlook Parkway that goes from Gadsden up to Chattanooga....riding on top of the low mountains. Very scenice.

But my first pick would be ride Little River Canyon Rim...........(Ft. Payne area)

I put on the Rune Rally....4-7 September. Will be heading back (from Erwin/Johnson City, TN) on the 7th. Be home a few days before packing up and heading out for CBR up in Indyaner'.....

You're the second person to recommend that.  I guess I'll have to do it.  (:

Is that different than the "Lookout Mountain Parkway"?  I found a "Scenic Highway" on the map, and they seem to follow similar but not identical routes.

We'll probably cross paths as you head south and I head north.
I'll be there through the 22nd, but probably can't get away for the CBR.  That would be cool, though.

Anybody interested in riding in that area on the weekends or as a late afternoon/evening ride during the week from Sept 8 through 21?  If I can get the whole weekend, I'm going to hit the Smokies, but if I can't, I'll want to do lots of local(ish) riding.  My only caveat is that my work schedule while I'm there may be... fluid.
Email, PM, or post here would be fine to contact me.

I've actually made it to Alabama!  Anyone interested in riding between now and Sept. 20?  I'm hoping to head to the Smokies this coming weekend, but haven't made solid plans.  Other than that, I'm hoping to catch some local afternoon rides in the area too.
PM, post, email, however.  Just holler.

Sent you an E-Mail with my Cell # I live just north of town and I'm available to help you with anything you need. There are a number of rides in the area. It looks like rain the rest of the week. Give me a call if I can help.

Thanks for the welcome, but I'm only here on a temporary basis.
I was considering joining ya'll on the CBR, but it looks like I have to work that weekend, certainly too much to get to Indiana and back.  Looks like mostly local riding for me this trip.

I may ride out another time I'm here on business, and I'll try to check in when I do, for any big events you've got going on.

Santa

You really do meet the nicest people on a Honda.  I met up with Santa yesterday evening.  Even though I had never met him before that day, he and his wife treated me like a long lost friend.  Invited me into their home, and even fed me, before heading off on some great little backroads up into Tennessee and back.  Thank you very much for the Alabama hospitality, with a Wisconsin touch.
