I have Dairyland on 12 cylinders through Maxim Motorsports in Allen. Dairyland is generous with their included accessories/helmets coverage. The premium on the Rumblebee went down from Sept '07 to Sept '08. The 'wing was significantly higher. Tupperware is expensive. I know Progressive quotes well, but after getting nailed in a cage by one of their insureds and having them draw things out for almost 2 years, forcing me to sue to recover nominal medical expenses, they'll never see a dime from me. The flip side is they really worked hard to protect their at-fault client and keep his premiums low. Ba$tard$

Tell us how you really feel, Dave. Really good input about the claims service. I see Geico is less and will also check with Dairyland. By the way, the HD is more expensive than the Valk on insurance in every category except collision. Haven't figured that one out yet, but interesting.

I have Progressive and they have been good to me. I talked to someone in insurance today and they said that all rates will go up since their normal investments aren't returning anything. These investments were used to keep profits up and reduce rates, but with the economy where it is, they have to get it from policyholders now. At least that's what he said and he has no reason to give me anything but the truth. As for the HD collision being lower than a Valk, that's easy - anything expensive has vibrated and fallen off the HD so the claims are for less.

I have American National for the Bike (and Geico for the car and Nationwide for the house...and no, it's not cheaper if I put all of them in the same place ) With AN, I pay $26 a month for full comprehensive and collision.

Kathy is still writing Dairyland. She switched me from Progressive. (903) 821-5637 Be sure to tell her you used to ride with her (before she and Greg split). Yep, another used to be Valker. Married, guys.-Jeff

An MSF instructor friend tells me that Geico offers great rates to get you in, then raises them substantially after a year or two. I have no personal experience with Geico, just what I've been told.

I have Daryland through Ball Insurance. www.ballins.com Small company out of a Houston suburb. Great people and the best rate I could find when I bought my FZ-6. Progressive and the lot considered it a sportbike, Ball got it insured at a much more reasonable price. They even blew away dairyland's direct quote. Right now, at 31, without a "current" MSF card, I am paying 685 for the year for my IS (full coverage, 500 deduct)
