Call me clueless, but as the title says, I found these nubs following a front tire and brake pads replacement.

Never felt or saw anything drop.
Looked all over, even removed one caliper (again) to see if they fit anywhere.
First, I thought perhaps they plug the back side of the caliper mount bolt hole, but they didn't seem to jam in there well. Not much space left once the bolt is fully tightened. Besides, I found 5, not just 4. Even read through the Shoptalk procedures (again) to see if there were any mention of these, but nope.  Didn't do anything else, just the front wheel and pads.

I'm not gonna say they didn't come off the bike, but they don't have anything to do with the front brakes or front wheel.

Well, there're not from a Valkyrie, so someone needs to start with the jokes.

How about "Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers?"   Smiley

They kinda look like the rubber covers for the bleeders on the calipers, but the front should only have two. cooldude

Pretty hard to get an idea of the size without a known something in the picture to compare with.

No pic.
The Craftsman Lift has rubber pads on the bearing surfaces, that say Craftsman.

They have location points, that sheared off when I left the lift down for that laaaast step, exercise the shocks, then tighten the right pinch bolts.

Afterward, I found the nubs.

I cleaned up after myself early this morning, moved that lift and saw the rubber cushion displaced, put two and two together. I really thought these were original brake pads (@ 39K mi, 17K of which are mine since July) and I displaced some factory dodads that sealed out water from "somewhere".  LOL

Good news is I put about 120 miles on the new front tire since and, well, new rubber is always better than what you take off, isn't it?

Leaving for Maine early Wednesday, that ought to break the new tire in.
