B12
« on: June 24, 2014, 05:18:30 PM »

Yep, I had to dig the camping equipment out and the Coleman was sputtering and irregular,, a shot of B12, let it run for awhile, and it is working much better now.   Good stuff.

Where do you find the white gas? I have that lantern and a cook stove but have not been able to find the fuel for them. Everything is propane now and disposable tanks just seem wrong! Angry

I've run gasoline in my old units, works just fine, but does seem to clog up the internals after awhile. Berrymans B12 to the rescue.

Camp fuel (naphtha) hasn't been hard for me to find.

Most Walmarts and Ace Hardwares carry the stuff.

After they came out with unleaded I would use regular gas in a pinch.  Siphon it out of the truck when camping in the north woods.  Otherwise if you want to treat your pump-up Coleman appliances right, their fuel is available at any place that sells camping equip.  Expensive compared to gasoline, IIRC.  But won't clog the generator.

Like has already been mentioned, the proper fuel is readily available. As often as I use this equipment, I just haven't seen any reason to cart along an extra container for fuel,, if I start using it more, I will probably buy some.

Coleman makes "Dual Fuel" pump up units that supposedly do run properly on unleaded.

Hey MarkT,  going to be in the Colorado Springs area next week, have a hotel for a couple of days, but would like to spend a night or two after that camping. Wondering if there is any where you know of within an hour or so where a guy and his dog can get to easily with some water and some privacy to just hang out with nature?

I could use a shot of B-12 after a night of drinking!  Grin

yeah,,, not sure the shot of B12 is any better an idea than the night of drinking,, note the skull and crossbones on the can.

Of course after a night of drinking,, anything is in the realm of possibility,,, no matter how dumb,, just ask,, I got dozens of stories from ancient history.

That could depend on how heavy a night of drinking it was.
