Rita maintains that if they had a marble tournament here in Winter Park, the town would turn out in droves. Absolutely ridiculous. So today, Trader Joes opened and the lines were in the hundreds of fools. The parking lot was so packed they had to call in the police and close the lot down. Stupid is as stupid does I guess.  uglystupid2

I agree!  About two or three months ago they opened one here in S. Tampa.  I could not believe the traffic congestion and the "BIG HoopLa" for this business.  It was only last week that I stopped in to see what the big deal was.  As I walked thru the parking lot I noticed most of the license plates were out of state.  Mostly Canadians and Northerners.  Got inside and everything had the Trader Joe's logo and cost more than like products in regular supermarkets.  As our buddy Forest Gump says, "Stupid is as stupid does!"

As Ron mentioned it was a "big deal" here in town......More hype than content or value IMHO. Better values at many other places.....oh wait, their announcing over the PA, I have to go move my double parked BMW.  Roll Eyes  It's all in name branding and marketing.

One opened in Naples two years ago. Same hype and congestion as other locations. One year later I was told the crowds thinned out and the prices dropped. Been in there a few times and have found items cheaper there than other stores. Too far away to make it a regular stop.
