I have a 1998 Tourer, and I am changing out the shocks. What is the best for our bikes? I am also doing the fork springs as well. I see a lot of progressive shocks on Valks, are these a good choice?

They work on my interstate. I have the front springs and the 440's 13in on the rear.  440's have been dropped from the progressive line though.

hello BronxBoy.

Last summer I had to replace my progressive 412 and did some research..

On my 1998 Tourer I went with the HD Progressive Suspension 444-4233B Black 12.5".

Black shocks were less expensive, plus your really dont see them behind the saddlebags.

Supplied with the shocks are the correct diameter bolt inserts...  They fit perfectly, and I run them on the 1st set of threads, since they screw up or down.
They down have specific position settings.

The Progressive 440 were manufacture by Edelbrock for Progressive, and since broke off, progressive designed the 444 as a replacement...

Slapped some HD 13" 444's on my 97 Tourer.  Love the suspension and handling characteristics!

Another choice is www.worksperformance.com. ... A bit pricier but are custom designed for your weight and riding style. If you like better handling, keep the 13" length.

B...

sorry it HeavyDuty, cause I am over 275# and ride 2 up from time to time.

I bought them from Progressive Suspensions thru Amazon Prime..

Compared to what I was riding on.. even with new bushings.. I love this bike even more with the new tires...

Got mine here, they were $454 when I ordered them late last winter.  Must be a summertime pricing increase!  Still, about the best price I could find online.

They want more for black.

I run shorter 11.5" Progressives on mine. Solo most of the time but even when I have had a gal on the back they never bottomed on the smooth roads we have.
