I am gonna help a friend do the rear end spline and shaft service. His is a 97 standard. Honda list three valks that year, are all the orings and drive shaft seals and thrust washer the same?? He can't be reached to find out if it is a 1500A,1500C,or 1500CT.
I think the only difference is the shaft on a 97??

Yep, all parts are interchangeable so you should be good. Not much needed for a service anyway. The right grease, the right gear oil, and the O-ring set and you're good to go. Have fun!
Careful taking the rear tire off. My brother just dumped his interstate off a lift because he removed the rear tire with the front tire off the ground. I wasn't there but he said it toppled forward.

Thanx I thought I was correct on the seals but where fifty miles from a dealer who doesn't stock any parts so have to order them. Just wanted to be sure.

Ouch that sucks. I always tie the bike down to the lift and never have a problem.

Just an FYI.

There where only 2 Valks, the C and CT (Standard and Tourer) until the Interstate CF came out in 99-01.

I believe the A is for a Goldwing Aspencade. I've seen the A and I given for GW. Some parts are the same.

I tie up to the jack but I also put some jack stands under the crash bars. Better safe than sorry. cooldude

Do not forget to put the Thrust Washer between the Wheel and the Drive Flange. Easy to miss and VERY important.
