Am planning to run the Dunlop D404 rear tire on the front of my 99 tour. Current tire size is 150/80/17 but I have not been able to find that size in a rear tire. Closest I have found is 150/90/17 in Dunlop and 150/60R/17 in Avon. Any help on where to buy and do they make the standard size for putting a rear tire version on the front?

Folks running the D404 rear tire on the front are using the 130. I haven't heard of anything about the 130 size being a problem. No personal experience though.

I bought the 404 rear and had on frt. of my I/S. Got it from Jake Wilson tires. Will never run a Dunflop again. Had a hop at 30 mph. They exchanged it for me to a Avon. Second Avon and doing good. I was out mount and bal. remove etc. Guy changing the tires for me said Metzler was the best. But no experience on that.

Why not just use the 404F front in the standard size, It lasts a long time, is a bargain, and I have used it with about any rear tire there is.  I like it. I presently have it on my bike with an E-3  radial on the rear.  jmho  Wink Hoser

Had just heard that rear tires last longer due to more tread depth when new. No experience with it though. Currently run a CT on the rear with a 404 on the front with no problems. Just trying to make a wise decision.

I'm using the 404F with a CT. Just put the 6th front on averaging 13K - 18K miles.
Couple of those were changed early before leaving on a trip.
