So I installed risers moved throttle cable from in front to behind bridge and if bars straight no real issue turn left binds a little turn right yup I gotta manually return throttle to idle not good trying to turn right slowly. I know others have done and have good results what am I missing?  1998 standard.  I even lubed all points still not good.loosend nuts on cables at throttle tried to move made no diff.  Do I need an interstate housing?  Or longer braided cables?  Money is an issue so cheaper fix the best.  Thanks

Should be a "no parts" fix. I run into this problem every time I put new risers on someones Valk. The key here is patience.
Put your bike on a stand so that the front wheel can be moved easily and the bike is standing straight up.
Take the right carb cover off so that you can gain access to the throttle cable adjustments.
Verify that the cables are properly routed through the plastic cover just in front of the fuel tank. You can simply pull it off if you need to make any adjustments. Routing is important. No kinks, no binding. Has to have free play.
Remove the return cable.
Now, adjust the throttle cable so that you can turn the wheel both directions with no binding. Throttle should have about 1/8" of play before it takes when twisting the throttle. Be patient, get it right.
Now that the throttle cable is adjusted, place the return cable back on. If the problem persists, adjust the return cable until it stops binding. Most people over-tighten the return cable. This is not necessary and will cause the problem you are having. As you can tell, the carbs have their own return springs. The return cable is a safety device.
Hope this helps.
