Hello!

I have been experiencing something annoying with my Kickstand lately.

I seem to be grinding my kick stand, on left hand turns.. and I am not over all that far... and not all the time.

Sometimes, I can take a left turn and lean over fairly far... and other times, not that far before steel on asphalt makes that unpleasant sound that travels up your spine to your teeth.

On a recent trip to Deals Gap... I can take a right hand turn farily aggressively... then a left... then a right... then a left....GRIND....

makes for an unpleasant experience at the time, and not having the confidence in taking a turn because of mechanical issues... sucks.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I am half tempted to grind off a ninch or two off of the kick stand arm at this point!

This is not normal. Find the reason before grinding. Loose bolts? Shortened rear shocks?

Something's definitely not right.  The rider's foot pegs should be the first to touch.

Bent spring mounting bolt, about ready to break.

Shorter shocks just previously installed.

Car tire,  LOL.

M/C tire, either one low on air?

Now, how hard are you putting it into a scrapping curve, speed on a no scrape.

Extra weiight on the rear.

Are they moving around on ya?

Can do it solo... but more often when a passeger is onboard.

Standard MT size for hte Valk - Marathon 880

Not too fast in to a turn...and have to GO SLOW so as to not scrape.

WHat is the spring mounting bolt.. .and what do I need to do to fix this?

Sounds like youre about to lose the spring.  If that bolt breaks (I should say WHEN) the kick stand will fall and then it will really be grinding.

Just look under there its obvious

If it doesn't break ya no need a spring.

Someone else will have to step forward on the bolt size and thread.

I know I got mine at ACE hardware in Joplin MO several years ago.    I was headed for key West when it broke, and I had relation in Ar-key-saw, so stopped there and we fixed it right before dinner.

His ex-wife wasn't too happy we worked on it before supper, but, I told my nephew screw her, she is a bitch anyway.

5 years later she left him for another guy.     They tried to get everything settled before she got the baby bump.   Didn't work out, so his attorney told her attorney to pack her bags and send her down the road.    All the kids were out of school and married, so she walked.

He has a very very nice keeper now.

If the kickstand sagged, wouldn't the kill switch kick in? Mine is very sensitive and the stand has to be all the way up to run.

My kickstand switch wasn't that touchy.

It did kill it when the bolt broke however.

cooldude order an extra spring when you get one.  check the bolt and get an extra. if you use lift and push too far in you can damage bolt that attaches kickstand.
