Just got home from depositions

First let me say thank you for all the thoughts and prayers to my VRCC family, you all have been wonderful.
I listen to 6 depo's today and it was hard not to speak, for those that know me they will understand. One of the witness was behind the driver and said he would never have turned. He held Steve's hand until the paramedics got there and told him to hold on.
The driver is 84 years old, on 5 medications but none have to do with the accident. He has glucoma and catherats and does not wear glasses. Still driving. His only injuries were a cut lip and a scrap on elbow but wife had 2 broken ribs and a punctured lung. He stated that 1 car passed and he turned, his focus was on the road he was turning onto not oncoming traffic. Said he never saw Steve. He finally looked at me and said sorry and my only response was a little late. His son knows the trooper.
The man Steve passed said Steve was not going more than 60 and the speed limit is 55. Said Steve passed him and looked over at bike as going by then looked at bike as Steve came back over into lane legally then looked up and said Kilgore was turning. Was alot of smoke from Steve locking up brakes.
The trooper only talked to 1 witness that being the man Steve passed coming up the hill. He said that when he called Kilgore for a statement his son told him he wasn't up to talking and he never tried again. All his info is based on the witness who said Steve passed him. His statement was notes taken at scene but his actual statement was 5 days later and there differences.
I'm mentally drained. It's not easy to hear people talk about your love one and cannot comment but I got thru it. I'll keep everyone posted on any updates. Next meeting is in November.

Have been on the defense side of depos defending the company a number of times. Definitely not a good time. Nothing anyone should look forward to. Hard to believe the old guy doesn't realize the error of his ways. Incredible. Thoughts with you.
