I have my Interstate torn down to the frame Shocked




so I am going through the rear end and all splines and such look great but there was no Thrust Washer between the final drive gear flange and the bearing hub where the shop manual says there should be one? where could have gone. tech leave it out at a tire change? or what?

You sure it's not stuck in the wheel with grease? It not you got lucky no wear cooldude

If everything looks OK, maybe it is really there... have you cleaned up the flange
and the wheel?

found it uglystupid2 it must have fallen out when I pulled the drive flange and rolled across the floor and it being Nylon , no noise when they hit concrete 2funny

You are lucky, I have seen what happens when the PO doesn't put the thrust washer back in.

Do you grease up the washer and hub? Mine always sticks to the wheel or hub. Never had one fall off.

When you put it back I would lightly grease all areas of the hub and washer, the hub studs that go down in the dampeners, and of course new orings and grease or paste on the splines cooldude
